TDC Ability Ambassador Program
Time Commitment Outline

 

 

We are looking for 10 people who will be sent to events as deemed appropriate, meaning that we will choose the speaker out of those 10 ambassadors, who is most appropriate for the event.

The ambassadors chosen for this program must be comfortable being in front of a camera.

All training is on an unpaid basis. The Ambassadors will be paid when they go out to speak at events. $150.00 per event.

All ambassadors are required to complete a minimum of 10hrs volunteer work at The Disability Channel station in order to learn about the station, and what happens during the production of a show.

The training for the Ability Ambassadors will be as follows:

• The ambassadors will receive two 4 hours sessions over 2 ½ days of on camera training and job shadowing
• T½ day of on camera simulation (how to deal with questions from the audience or situations that may arise such as hecklers etc.)
• T½ day at the studio, of building their profile for publication

The orientation training will be as follows:

• ½ day orientation to social media
• ½ day of orientation to TDC’s protocols and procedures for attending events
• ½ day job shadowing

All of the above training and orientation is mandatory.

TDC will cover the costs for ambassadors to attend events.
We are striving to send Ability Ambassadors to a minimum of 10 events per year.
